The Seer and the previous card, the Magician, are a pair in the Tarot, a duality. Where the Magician is outwardly focused, the Seer looks inward. Where the Magician seeks to comprehend the world, the Seer seeks to know the self. Where the Magician represents the conscious mind, the Seer represents the unconscious mind. Both are necessary for the psyche to move forward.
